St Columba’s College is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Finance Officer (Payroll and Accounts Payable) to join our Accounts Office and play a key role in supporting the College’s financial operations. This is a part time (0.6FTE) ongoing position.
This is a hands-on role responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant payroll and accounts payable services, while providing responsive support to staff and suppliers in a collaborative school environment.
As the Finance Officer (Payroll and Accounts Payable) your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver accurate and timely fortnightly payroll, including onboarding, variations and leave processing
- Maintain payroll integrity through reporting, reconciliations, compliance and end-of-year processes
- Manage payroll obligations including superannuation, taxation and employee leave balances
- Process supplier invoices and payments efficiently, ensuring accuracy and strong financial control
- Build positive relationships by providing responsive support to staff and suppliers and contributing to a high-performing team
We are looking for:
- Proven experience in payroll and accounts payable, with strong working knowledge of compliance requirements
- Highly accurate with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach and strong interpersonal skills
- Collaborative team player who contributes positively to workplace culture
- Proficiency in financial systems (Synergetic and Alii preferrable) and Microsoft Excel, with experience in a school setting desirable
