Role Description/Criteria

St Patrick's Primary School is a vibrant and dynamic Catholic school, 20 minutes from Melbourne's northern suburbs. It sits alongside Assumption College, our sister Marist school, and we work very closely with their staff and students alike.

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced applicants within a primary school environment for a Deputy Principal (Operations) role that will support the School Principal in the strategic leadership of St Patrick’s to ensure the vision and ethos of the School are achieved.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated capacity to think and act strategically;
  • Ability to work at both a strategic and operational level;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to staff and community members;
  • Excellent oral, verbal and written communication skills, together with a creative approach;
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage competing tasks with a high level of attention to detail;
  • Enthusiasm for working in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage school operations.

The school values staff who are comfortable in an environment of ongoing improvement, self-reflection, coaching/mentoring and peer interaction. We are looking for creative thinkers, who are life-long learners and want to be part of a well-supported team in a relatively new, beautiful built environment.

St Patrick’s is a school committed to the safety, well-being and protection of all children in our care. A sound and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current 'Child Safe' standards is required. A copy of the school’s Child Safe Policy and Child Safe Code of Conduct can be found on the school’s website.

Applicants are asked to demonstrate:

  • current VIT registration;
  • excellent ICT skills;
  • knowledge of school operational requirements;
  • accreditation to teach RE;
  • a commitment to faith formation, both personally and professionally;
  • an ability to lead staff.
