About the role
MacKillop College is seeking an experienced and passionate educator who is either an established leader or ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.
We are looking for a confident and contemporary educator who is committed to student growth and wellbeing, and who can work collaboratively to make a meaningful difference to the student experience.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to lead with consistency, build positive relationships and uphold College expectations, contributing to a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment. The Year Level Leader plays a key role in shaping and sustaining a positive, connected and cohesive year-level culture that promotes student engagement and personal growth. Working across a diverse range of partnerships, the Year Level Leader provides visible and practical leadership, ensuring students are connected with appropriate supports in a timely manner.

As a trusted professional support to teachers, the Year Level Leader leads the implementation of strategies that respond to individual student needs, including behavioural, wellbeing and academic concerns. The role facilitates effective communication and collaboration between students, families and staff, ensuring a consistent, coordinated and student-centered approach.

Leadership at MacKillop College
At MacKillop, our leaders play an important role in connecting the academic, pastoral and relational aspects of school life. They work alongside teachers to support effective practice, engage with students and families, respond to challenges and opportunities, and contribute to a consistent and positive experience for students, staff and families.

As MacKillop College enters the final year of its current Position of Leadership cycle, this position is offered for a one-year period, providing an opportunity to make a significant contribution while developing and extending your leadership practice. The successful candidate will be offered permanent, full-time teaching position commencing in Term 1, 2027, with a Position of Leadership (POL 3) until January 2028.

  • an ability to implement behaviour modification and restorative processes using a trauma informed approach
  • an understanding of the diversity and complexity of issues impacting adolescents
  • empathy, sound judgement and a genuine commitment to supporting students’ wellbeing, self-esteem and confidence
  • a demonstrated ability to build the capacity of teachers to address wellbeing matters
  • you will be an authentic and trustworthy role model who builds strong and respectful relationships with young people
