Role Description/Criteria

Our Holy Redeemer Primary School is seeking a passionate and skilled Physical Education teacher to join our school community.  This is a part-time, fixed term leave replacement position of the 2027 school year, with the possibility of an ongoing position in 2028.  Experienced and graduate teachers are welcome to apply.

The successful applicant will preferably be available to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Appropriate planning time will be built into their schedule.

The Physical Education teacher is responsible for the implementation of a planned, sequential program that is developmental from F – 6, based on the Learning Area of Health and Physical Education in the Victorian Curriculum F-10 Version 2.0, specifically focussing on the strand of Movement and Physical Activity – Physical Education.  The program should develop students’ physical skills, confidence, teamwork, inclusivity, and lifelong appreciation of physical activity.

The successful applicant must be supportive of the Catholic ethos of Our Holy Redeemer. Applicants must be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.. Requirements:

  • VIT Registration (or eligibility for registration)
  • Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school and/or commitment to providing a Catholic education for all students
  • Commitment to adhere to Our Holy Redeemer's Child Safety Policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum particularly in the strand of Movement & Physical Activity
  • Proven communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others
  • Evidence of effective strategies in fostering a safe and positive learning environment
  • A desire to contribute to the positive staff culture within the school
