Role Description/Criteria
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the dedicated and welcoming team at St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Sunshine West, as a Learning Support Officer (LSO) in 2027.
Our LSOs are valued and vital members of our school community, working collaboratively with classroom teachers, students and families to support the learning, wellbeing and whole formation of every child.
St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School is seeking applications for full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) fixed-term Learning Support Officer positions, commencing 27 January 2027 and concluding 26 January 2028. Days and hours of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
This position is classified and remunerated in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022.
Pre-service teachers currently enrolled in an education course are also highly encouraged to apply.

Key Selection Criteria
We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated individuals who demonstrate:
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs within a school or educational setting.
- The ability to implement adjustments and learning supports, as directed by teaching staff, to enhance student engagement, participation and progress.
- A warm, respectful and inclusive approach to working with students, demonstrating patience, empathy and consistency.
- A commitment to working collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers and the wider school community to support positive outcomes for students.
- The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a professional and supportive team.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- A willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute positively to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Victorian Child Safe Standards and the requirements outlined in Ministerial Order No. 1359.
- A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or a willingness to obtain these prior to commencement.
- First Aid and/or Disability/Integration Aide qualifications are desirable but not essential.
