About us:
Kolbe Catholic College is a co-educational Year 7 to 12 school located across two vibrant campuses in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, St Clare of Assisi Campus in Greenvale and St Catherine of Bologna Campus in Mickleham. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling and targeted wellbeing programs to support students experiencing mental health, emotional, family and social challenges.
- Develop and implement proactive wellbeing, prevention and social-emotional learning programs that promote student resilience, mental health and self-awareness.
- Collaborate with students, parents, College leaders, staff and external professionals to develop and coordinate evidence-based interventions and support plans.
- Manage student cases, referrals and counselling consent processes, maintaining accurate records and appropriate confidentiality.
- Identify, respond to and report child safety concerns in accordance with mandatory reporting requirements, College policies and relevant legislation, including supporting staff with mandatory reporting.
- Contribute to the College's broader wellbeing and professional learning initiatives, including staff and parent education, resources and ongoing professional development.
Skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in counselling.
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development.
- Experience in counselling school-aged children and/or adolescents.
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional ethical and professional standards.
- Proven capacity to build and maintain strong relationships and effective communication with key stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy school environment
- A commitment to inclusivity and diversity, and strong cultural awareness.
- Generosity of spirit, initiative, enthusiasm, and an ability to remain calm under pressure.
