Applications are sought for the position of Director of Wellbeing Programs - POL 4. This is a 3 year tenured Position of Leadership in conjunction with an ongoing teaching appointment.

Our College was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and is named after St Anthony of Padua. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

The Director of Wellbeing Programs is at the forefront of the implementation of our Mission and Vision as expressed in our Educational Strategic Plan. In conjunction with the Pastoral Executive, they set the direction for student wellbeing programs and strategies across all year levels on the Campus, ensuring every student’s opportunities for success are maximised.

This role reflects the College’s commitment to creating the conditions in which effective teaching and learning can flourish. Evidence shows that learning improves when students feel safe and expectations are clear. Respectful behaviour, consistent routines, and shared expectations contribute to better student engagement while enabling our staff to perform at their best (MACS Vision for Engagement p. 3).

The Leader of Student Wellbeing Programs reports to the Vice Principal - Students and is a key member of the Pastoral Executive under the direction of the Vice Principal - Students.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Director of Wellbeing Programs’ major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • managing the development, implementation and evaluation of student wellbeing programs, strategies, and policy to maximise student health, wellbeing, learning, and engagement across the College;
  • in consultation with the Pastoral Executive, leading and implementing the whole school approach for the weekly eXcel pastoral lesson for the development of the social-emotional learning program at the College;
  • in collaboration with the Pastoral Executive, fostering initiatives to promote the personal development of each student;
  • developing and leading the implementation of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Branch of Padua Capability Units;
  • in collaboration with the Vice Principal - Staff, Strategy and Development, implementing and leading whole school staff professional learning in relation to Wellbeing and Social-Emotional Learning;
  • leads the social and emotional learning dimensions of the Respectful Relationships curriculum, ensuring students develop the capabilities needed for safe, respectful, and healthy relationships with the focus remaining within the Respectful Relationships curriculum and the Personal and Social Capability, while the Catholic contextualisation of this learning is led by the Catholic Identity Leader (RE Curriculum);
  • in collaboration with the Pastoral Executive, developing and implementing the student leadership program; and
  • performing other day-to-day duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal or the College Improvement Team. 

Teachers are supported by the Department Heads, Learning Leaders, the Assistant Heads of Campus (Learning and Pedagogy), Deputy Principals/Directors of Campus (Heads of Campus), and the Vice Principal (Learning and Teaching) across the College in the development, implementation, and teaching of the curriculum. 

They are also supported by the House Coordinators, Assistant Heads of Campus (Student Wellbeing and Growth), the Deputy Principals/Directors of Campus (Heads of Campus) and the Vice Principal – Students, in the pastoral care and discipline of students, as well as the smooth and effective management of classes.

SALARY REMUNERATION: According to the CEMEA 2022, $79,589.00 - $118,063.00 per annum, plus 12% superannuation. 

A Position of Leadership 4 is $13,018.00 per annum.
