Role Description/Criteria
St John Vianney’s is seeking applications from enthusiastic and suitably qualified teachers for a classroom teaching position (0.6), commencing in Term 3, 2025. The role includes teaching in a Year 1–2 classroom for two days (Monday and Friday) and an additional one day (day and role negotiable).
The successful applicant will demonstrate :
- a willingness to support the values and ethos of Catholic Education
- knowledge of the Explicit Instruction approach to learning and teaching (favourable but not essential)
- knowledge in the Science of Learning and Science of Reading (favourable but not essential)
- a collegial, team-based approach to learning and teaching
- strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- the skills and abilities to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience
- the ability to use data to inform teaching and learning
- sound knowledge and understanding of Religious Education within the Primary School
- competent skills and pedagogy around Google applications
- a sound understanding of learning in an EAL community
- the ability to build positive supportive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
- initiative and a commitment to ongoing Professional Learning
- an understanding and commitment to Child Safety.
The successful applicant will have:
- VIT registration
- a current Police Check
- RE Accreditation or a willingness to complete
- a current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to undertake a First Aid Course).
