Role Description/Criteria

The Operational Teaching Assistant (OTA) will support the Arts and Humanities learning areas by:

  • Ordering classroom supplies, completing purchase orders, unpacking and sorting deliveries, and auditing classroom resources.
  • Preparing classroom and learning resources, and classroom displays.
  • Setting up for class, where this is applicable. 
  • Creating and adapting resources, under the direction of the teacher.
  • Printing, scanning, filing and organizing digital files..
  • Developing spreadsheets and collating a range of information.
  • Booking excursions and incursions; following up paperwork and permission forms.
  • Supporting teachers in organizing and coordinating classroom and school events, excursions and co-curricular activities such yard duty, assemblies and other school events.
  • Assisting in the preparation and setup of the Image Arts and Technology exhibition. This includes mounting, framing and labelling of art work.
  • Assisting in the organizational aspects of the school production (ticketing, catering, props and set design)

The OTA will work in Humanities on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and in the Arts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The position is a full time role with work hours being 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Applications for part time roles as either an Arts OTA (3 days per week) and a Humanities OTA (2 days per week) would also be considered.
