An exciting opportunity has become available to join the dedicated and welcoming team at St. Peter’s Catholic Primary School as a Learning Support Officer (LSO). This pivotal role is central to supporting the whole formation of each student, working collaboratively with teachers and families to enhance learning outcomes for all.
Our LSOs are vital members of the school community who work closely with classroom teachers, students and families to support the whole formation and growth of each child. This role will suit someone who is warm, dependable, highly organised and willing to contribute to a nurturing, faith-informed learning environment.

Key Selection Criteria:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated individual who demonstrates the following:
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in a school setting.
- Ability to implement adjustments as directed by teaching staff to support student engagement and progress.
- A warm and respectful manner with students, displaying patience, empathy, and consistency.
- Commitment to working in partnership with teachers, parents, and the wider school community.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a professional learning team.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge and commitment to Child Safety Standards as outlined in Ministerial Order No. 1359.
- A current Working With Children Card and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- First Aid and Disability/Integration Aide qualifications are desirable but not essential.
