Role Description/Criteria

Working in cooperation with the Principal, the Deputy Principal nurtures Catholic spiritual growth, community and culture and models a commitment to Catholic education and enhancing the Catholic Identity of the school. The Deputy Principal is a key member of the leadership team. The Deputy Principal exercises a unique professional relationship of support and loyalty to the leadership of the Principal. The Deputy Principal will provide an excellent role model for other educators through supporting and monitoring the learning and growth of effective educators; and setting high standards for students and staff performance. The Deputy Principal contributes in a way that shapes and implements the schools’ vision that reflects the Catholic identity of the school. The Deputy Principal is directly responsible to the Principal for the performance of their duties and takes the role of Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal. The Deputy Principal works closely with the Principal to gain an understanding of the complex nature of school leadership and is responsible for organising, monitoring and assessing all staff professional learning, Child Safety requirements & ensuring compliance with MACS policies and procedures. The Deputy Principal contributes to the collaborative decision-making for the school. The Deputy Principal will promote cultural inclusivity for everyone and promote the safety and wellbeing of all children in our community.
