Role Description/Criteria

An exciting new position from 2026 for our school, our new Arts Teacher will have the flexibility and freedom to create something from the ground up.

The position will be across 3 days (Tuesday to Thursday).

The successful applicant will be passionate about all aspects of the Arts curriculum.

We are also looking at hosting our first whole school musical in 2026, so some dance experience or enthusiasm would be a huge plus!

Our existing school choir also has a positive presence in the school, parish and wider Altona community.

There is also the potential to turn this position into a full-time position with the school, pairing this specialist role with a part-time classroom position.

St Mary’s has a great reputation as a community-centred school. We take pride in our relationships with our students, families and each other. As an active member of our school, the candidate will be committed to establishing and maintaining these strong relationships.

The successful applicant will hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.

They will also be committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and to ensuring St Mary's Child safety policies and procedures are fully enacted.
