Role Description/Criteria

St Augustine’s Primary School Keilor is seeking a dynamic Religious Education Leader to join our school two days per week (Wednesday & Thursday) starting in 2026. 

The successful applicant will have a commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children with accreditation to teach Religious Education.

The successful applicant will possess the skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to work collaboratively with teams to plan and deliver a rich and rewarding Religious Educational experience to students through classroom Religious Education studies and through the Sacraments.

They must also have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and have a commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education and contribute to and enact the School Improvement Plan and School Vision.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of students
  • Experience in and interest in a leadership role in a school with at least five years classroom teaching experience. 
  • Strong faith commitment and the ability to promote and enhance the Catholic Identify of St Augustine's
  • Possess the skills and abilities to work as a collaborative team member who is open and responsive to new learning
  • Ability to model exemplary leadership dispositions and a willingness to engage in a culture of feedback
  • Strong and thorough knowledge of curriculum, student data and technology.
  • An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues of the school and be willing to be involved in and lead School and Parish activities

Term 1, 2026

Special Requirements:

  • current VIT registration and proof of personal identity and any professional or other qualifications
  • accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school
  • experience as an REL an advantage
  • compliance with all requirements of Child Safety, policies, and legal responsibilities concerning the safety, care, and wellbeing of all students
