St Brigid’s is a vibrant Catholic learning community nestled in the beautiful Yarra Valley, just 20 minutes from Lilydale and 10 minutes from Yarra Glen. With an enrolment of 274 students across 14 classes from Prep to Year 6, we offer high-quality educational programs and the advantage of small class sizes that support personalised learning.

We are seeking a passionate and suitably qualified teacher who is committed to ongoing professional growth and dedicated to nurturing the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of every student.

The successful applicant will be:

Selection Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • A commitment to the Catholic ethos and the holistic wellbeing of students
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Effective and supportive behaviour management strategies
  • A sound understanding of contemporary teaching practices and their impact on student learning
  • A willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning
  • The ability to inspire and nurture a lifelong love of learning in students

Special Requirements

  • Current provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or evidence of application
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School, or a commitment to obtain this within five years in accordance with MACS Accreditation Policy
  • A demonstrated commitment to child safety and best practices in safeguarding
  • Three referees, including one who is a current employer or Principal
