Role Description/Criteria

St. Scholastica's Catholic Primary School located in Burwood is seeking an highly motivated, enthusiastic and friendly Arts teacher to join our school part time in 2026. The successful applicant will be required to:

  • demonstrated commitment to the Catholic ethos and willingness to actively support the faith life of the school community.
  • understand the Victorian Curriculum in the Arts, including Visual Arts, Performing Arts and related disciplines.
  • plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive Arts programs that inspire self-expression and artistic growth in students.
  • differentiate teaching to cater for the diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests of all students.
  • use a range of artistic media, materials, and digital tools to enhance teaching and student creativity.
  • understand current educational research and best practice in Arts education and creative pedagogy.
  • use of assessment and feedback to inform teaching practice and report on student progress in line with the Victorian Curriculum.
  • demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to professional learning and contribute to a collaborative school culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • demonstrate understanding of and commitment to child safety, wellbeing, and inclusion in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.

 

St. Scholastica’s intends to appoint a STEM teacher at 0.24 FTE (one day per week) in 2026 and is open to the possibility of a single candidate undertaking both roles, resulting in a combined 0.48 FTE appointment, for a suitably qualified applicant.

Accreditation to teach RE in a Catholic School or willingness to do so.
