Role Description/Criteria

The successful applicant will:

  • Committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this, and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
  • Demonstrate alignment with MACS Visions for Instruction and Engagement, using evidence-based practices to maximise student learning.
  • Embrace Explicit Direct Instruction and Engagement Norms as the foundation of classroom practice.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team, contributing to the shared responsibility for student growth and achievement.
  • Be open to coaching, reflective practice, and welcoming feedback to support professional learning and development.

Special Requirements:

  • Full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School is desirable.

Success Criteria:

  1. Be faith-filled with a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social, and educational well-being of all students.
  2. Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to continue building authentic relationships with students, colleagues, and families and work collaboratively as an active member of a team.
  3. Use supportive, consistent, and respectful behaviour management practices that promote a positive learning environment.
  4. Display a strong understanding of contemporary learning practices, including explicit direct instruction and responsive teaching, and demonstrate a willingness to work within a low-variance, knowledge-rich curriculum.
