Role Description/Criteria
Sacred Heart Primary School is a small Catholic school community in the heart of vibrant Preston. We honour our faith’s rich traditions and participate in its rituals. While we celebrate our Catholic identity, we also follow the example of the Good Samaritan and respect the faith, values, and customs of children from other traditions.
Our smaller community allows strong relationships to flourish, and each individual to be valued for who they are. We are proud that every student in our school is known, and families are embraced as part of our Sacred Heart School Family. In 2026, we will have just over 120 students with diverse backgrounds, needs, and interests.
We are excited to welcome a classroom teacher who shares our passion for teaching and learning and is eager to contribute to the life of our school. This is a wonderful opportunity for an educator committed to explicit teaching, student wellbeing, and collaborative practice.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic about:
- Teaching and learning within a Catholic Parish faith community, guiding students in their faith and Sacramental journey.
- Planning and delivering engaging programs that meet the needs of all students.
- Incorporating the MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement into daily teaching practice.
- Using evidence-based Literacy practices, such as InitiaLit (Foundation to Year 2).
- Explicitly teaching Maths, extending students at their point of need.
- Delivering Inquiry learning that fosters curiosity, reflection, and a love of learning.
