Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Italian language lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum.
- Foster a passion for language learning and cultural appreciation in a supportive, inclusive environment.
- Use diverse teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate Italian across the curriculum.
- Contribute to whole-school events celebrating Italian culture, including our annual Italian Day.
- Assess and report in line with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0, providing constructive feedback through semester reports.
- Share student learning through assemblies and newsletters.
- Promote conversational Italian in daily routines and encourage independence through tools like Languages Online.
- Incorporate music, singing, and prayers in Italian to enhance confidence and cultural understanding.
- Uphold child safety policies and support student wellbeing.
Skills & Experience Required
- Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
- A strong commitment to Catholic education.
- Experience teaching LOTE - Italian P-6
- Ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters for the needs of all students.
- Enthusiasm for implementing a differentiated curriculum and using modern technology to support student learning.
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
Special Requirements
- St Joseph the Worker promotes the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children; the successful applicant must demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.
- Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is essential.

- Candidates must hold a valid visa and/or full Australian Working Rights and provide evidence of this.
