Role Description/Criteria
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the full-time position of Performing Arts/Music Teacher to commence in January 27th 2026.
The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children. This position would be suitable for a teacher beginning or growing their career, as OLOL provides an experienced team with which to work.
The successful applicant will:
- Demonstrate commitment to Catholic education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.
- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner centred, supportive, cooperative and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
- Well versed in contemporary teaching pedagogies.
- Possess the skills and abilities necessary to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience and will embrace a collegial, team-based approach to teaching and learning.
- Appropriately qualified, demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to deliver the appropriate curriculum to a range of educational abilities and be able to provide care and support for students whilst supporting and respecting the ethos of the school and its environment.
- Differentiate learning for students according to their educational needs and abilities and are responsible for the creation of effective assessment practices and quality teaching programs
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Confident in the use of ICT.
- Demonstrate initiative and a commitment to ongoing Professional Learning.
- Possess a love of learning.
Special Requirements:
- The successful applicant will hold the Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Performing Arts and Music Curriculum
- Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of contemporary learning pedagogies and explicit teaching strategies
- Able to show a thorough understanding of differentiated and personalised learning
