Role Description/Criteria
Educators who are passionate about student wellbeing and learning, and who are committed to co-creating an inclusive learning environment, are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.
General Duties
- proactively monitor and support student wellbeing and learning
- exercise pastoral care and behaviour support in a manner which reflects school values
- implement strategies which promote a healthy and positive learning environment
- work collaboratively with teaching staff and students with regards to student learning needs
- assist children with their learning needs, either in groups or individually
- participate in Program Support Group (PSG) meetings as required
- provide supervision during lunch and recess breaks when timetabled
- complete other duties as directed by the Principal and other leadership team members
- maintain each student’s privacy and confidentiality.
All staff members are expected to maintain a commitment to Child Safety in keeping with our Child Safety Policy.
Essential Skills, Knowledge And Experience / Selection Criteria
Special requirements:
- supportive of the Catholic Ethos
- experience working with students with learning and behavioural needs
- have excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with staff and other stakeholders
- ability to work as part of a professional educative team
- a willingness to join in the life of the school community.
Special Requirements
- applicants must have a current Working With Children Check.
- equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training.
This role is a fixed term position for 5 days a week 8.45am-3.20pm. Those seeking part-time work are also encouraged to apply.
