Role Description/Criteria

Resurrection Primary School invites candidates with relevant and recent experience to apply for the role of Learning Support Officer working for 4 days a week from 8.45am till 3.15pm - Additional study or experience in working with neurodivergent students is required. The contract is until the end of 2026 with the possibility of further work in 2027 and beyond. The role begins on the first day of Term 2 

The role of the Learning Support Officer is to:

• Provide a caring environment, which also promotes independence within our explicit teaching context

• Provide assistance in supporting students who require an adjusted learning program or who are funded through National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) to receive support for their individual needs

• To keep anecdotal records on individual students you work with based on their learning goals 

• Maintain up-to-date information on supported students and communicate this with the Learning Diversity Leader and relevant teachers

• Maintain high level communication with relevant personnel

• Assist with social awareness / interaction and appropriate behaviors within the classroom and playground environment

• Participate in meetings relevant to Personalised Learning Programs (PLPs), Individualised Learning Programs (ILPs) and Program Support Groups (PSGs) if required

• Supporting students on excursions outside the school environment

• Provide support to extra-curricular activities where assistance is required:Student Progress Interviews, School Masses, School Camps and other initiatives that require additional assistance in accordance with schools Time In Lieu (TIL) polices 

• Other duties as directed by the Principal


 

This person is expected to be supportive of the philosophy of Catholic education and must have a current:

• Working With Children Check

• National Police Record Check form Victoria Police


 

This position will be remunerated as per the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.
