Role Description/Criteria

St Richard’s Primary School, Kilsyth is seeking a dedicated, positive and compassionate Learning Support Officer (LSO) to join our vibrant school community.

The LSO plays a vital role in supporting the inclusion of students who require adjustments or modifications to their learning or school life. Working under the guidance and direction of classroom teachers, the LSO assists in implementing learning programs, fostering student independence, and promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.

The successful applicant will:

  • Support individual and small group learning under teacher direction
  • Assist in implementing learning and wellbeing adjustments
  • Assist students with Personalised Learning Plans in reaching their targeted goals
  • Maintain NCCD evidence, recording daily support levels, student progress as directed by the Learning Diversity Leader
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and nurturing school culture

Qualifications:

Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support is essential. Prior experience supporting primary aged students would be advantageous. Applicants must hold a current Working With Children Check and Police Check.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety and wellbeing of children.
