Role Description/Criteria

Learning Diversity Leader (POL2)

Holy Cross Primary School is a vibrant Catholic community committed to the safety, wellbeing, and flourishing of every child. The Learning Diversity Leader is an experienced leader who drives a whole-school approach to inclusion, ensuring every student is known, valued, and supported to fully participate in learning.

This is offered as a 0.4 FTE contract position for the remainder of the 2026 school year (days negotiable), commencing in Term 2, with an immediate start available. There is a clear pathway to 0.6 FTE and an ongoing role for the right applicant.

Aligned with the MACS Vision for Engagement, this role promotes a culture where student voice, agency, belonging, and wellbeing are central. The Learning Diversity Leader works in partnership with staff, families, and external professionals to identify, assess, and respond to diverse learning needs, ensuring equitable access to a rich and meaningful curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

Inclusive Leadership

  • Lead a whole-school culture of inclusion where every student experiences belonging, safety, and connection
  • Work closely with the leadership team to embed the MACS Vision for Engagement across learning and wellbeing practices
  • Align inclusive practices with school improvement priorities 

Assessment and Responsive Practice

  • Lead processes to identify, assess, and monitor student needs using data and professional judgement
  • Support staff to design differentiated, evidence-based learning
  • Ensure adjustments are purposeful, monitored, and responsive

Student Support and Coordination

  • Oversee PLPs and PSG processes
  • Coordinate support for students with academic, social-emotional, behavioural, medical and sensory needs
  • Support the development of calm, purposeful and inclusive learning environments

Building Staff Capability

  • Coach and support teachers to implement inclusive, engaging practices
  • Promote evidence-based approaches including MTSS
  • Build consistent, evidence informed, high-impact teaching practices

NCCD and Compliance

  • Lead NCCD processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and evidence of adjustments
  • Ensure adherence to all legislative and policy requirements, 

Partnerships

  • Work collaboratively with families as partners in learning
  • Liaise with MACS staff, allied health professionals, and external agencies

Professional Expectations

  • Hold current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  • Possess or be working towards a relevant Master’s qualification in Education, Special Education, or Inclusion.

     

Perform other duties as reasonably required and directed by the Principal.
