Role Description/Criteria

An exciting opportunity exists for a dynamic Prep Classroom Teacher to join our highly professional team at St John's Heidelberg.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the full-time, contract position of Prep Classroom Teacher, commencing Term 3, 2026. There is the possibility for this position to become ongoing.

  • Capacity to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences within a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Sound understanding of MACS Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement, applying effective pedagogy to support personalised and differentiated learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively, using data to inform planning and respond to diverse student needs
  • Skill in delivering curriculum that supports students’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Capacity to gather and analyse data to inform teaching and provide targeted support
  • Knowledge of the OCRE and the ability to effectively implement Religious Education in line with Catholic teachings
  • Respect for the Catholic ethos of the school and a commitment to Gospel values
  • Openness to innovation, including the effective integration of digital technologies to enhance learning
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth as a lifelong learner
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of and compliance with legal responsibilities relating to the safety, care, and wellbeing of students

Special Requirements:

  • Current VIT registration
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proof of identity and relevant qualifications
  • Commitment to the safety, wellbeing, and protection of all children
  • Commitment to the ethos of Catholic education
