Role Description/Criteria

LEARNING DIVERSITY LEADER POSITION DESCRIPTION

Our Lady of the Way is seeking a passionate, highly motivated Learning Diversity Leader to join our vibrant, growing community. This crucial role connects home, school, external providers, and Catholic Education Melbourne to influence contemporary learning practices across the school.

Experienced educational leaders are encouraged to apply, and post-graduate study in this field is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Partner with members of Leadership, classroom teachers, and LSOs to champion inclusive education.
  • Targeted Support: Assist staff with differentiated curriculum, PLPs, Behaviour Plans, Safety Plans and targeted adjustments for students with additional needs (including highly able students).
  • Compliance & Data: Coordinate evidence and maintain the register for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) in line with the Disability Discrimination Act (1992).
  • Leadership: Model Christian leadership, uphold school policies, and participate in professional development networks.

Special Requirements

  • Valid VIT Registration.
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school (or a willingness to work towards it).
  • A deep commitment to the Catholic ethos, child safety policies, and legal responsibilities regarding student wellbeing.

Applicants are asked to demonstrate:

• A strong commitment to Catholic education

• An ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents and colleagues

• An ability to create a collaborative learning environment that educates, challenges and engages

• Provide students with a child-safe environment

• Be familiar with and comply with the school's child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety

• An eagerness to learn

• An enthusiasm to implement a differentiated curriculum and use modern technology to support student learning

• An enthusiasm to address the challenges and opportunities that being a member of a young school will present

• The ability to work collaboratively in a team and be involved in educational leadership is essential

• A willingness to be actively involved in the school community.
