Lumen Christi Catholic Primary School, Point Cook is seeking an inspiring, relational and faith-filled Deputy Principal & Faith Formation Leader to join our vibrant and growing school community.

Working in close partnership with the Principal and Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will play a significant role in the strategic and day-to-day leadership of the school, while also providing leadership of Catholic identity, mission and faith formation across our community.

Key Selection Criteria

Lead with faith and purpose
As Deputy Principal and Faith Formation Leader, you will have an important role in nurturing the Catholic identity and spiritual life of our school. You will create meaningful opportunities for staff, students and families to encounter faith, deepen their understanding of the Gospel and connect faith with life. Working alongside the Principal, Religious Education Leaders and Parish, you will help ensure our Catholic mission is visible, authentic and lived every day.

Be part of a strong and supportive leadership culture
Work closely with the Principal and Leadership Team in a collaborative environment where leadership is shared, relationships matter and people are valued. You will have genuine opportunities to influence the strategic direction and ongoing growth of the school.

Lead learning and school improvement
Play a key role in driving high-quality, evidence-informed teaching and learning, building staff capability and ensuring our improvement priorities lead to meaningful outcomes for every student.

Salary Range: DPCB 4.1–4.4 (Enrolment 550–699), commensurate with experience and in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).

Employment Arrangement

The successful applicant will be employed as an ongoing Classroom Teacher, with the Position of Leadership as Deputy Principal appointed for a two-year term from 2027 to 2028.

In accordance with the employment structure at Lumen Christi Catholic Primary School, the successful applicant will maintain their substantive ongoing employment as a Classroom Teacher throughout this period. The Deputy Principal Position of Leadership is a two-year appointment and does not constitute an ongoing appointment to the Deputy Principal position.

As an integral part of the Deputy Principal role, the successful applicant will also hold responsibility for Faith Formation Leadership for the duration of the 2027–2028 appointment.

Special Requirements

  • Lumen Christi Catholic Primary School is committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children. The successful applicant must demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to creating and maintaining a child-safe environment.
  • A Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification is required. A Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in education, leadership or a related field would be highly regarded.
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration is required.
  • Accreditation to Teach Religious Education in a Catholic School is essential.
  • Applicants are required to provide the contact details of three professional referees. A fourth referee from the applicant’s local Parish Priest would be highly regarded.
