Queen of Peace Parish Primary School ensures that primacy is given to faith formation of students in an authentic Catholic community through a commitment to Jesus Christ, and His Good News, as a believing and practising Catholic. Leadership in a Catholic school carries with it the unique opportunity for shaping a climate of Catholic Christian values and an atmosphere for learning that will nurture the growth and development of each person.
Queen of Peace takes an explicit instructional approach to the teaching of English, Mathematics and Behavioural Routines and Expectations, in line with the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools' Vision for Instruction and Vision for Engagement.
Queen of Peace Primary School is a child-safe environment committed to creating an environment where the safety, wellbeing and participation of all children within our care is paramount. All staff members are expected to be knowledgeable of the current Child-Safe requirements.
The Wellbeing Leader reports directly to the Principal and Deputy Principal - Student Engagement, is a member of the Leadership Team and oversees programs and resources.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic educator who holds a strong understanding of the whole child and students wellbeing needs. The successful applicant will coordinate and oversee programs and resources that support all students to flourish. We are seeking a collaborative team player, who confidently engages with all stakeholders, within our school and throughout the broader community.
This is a Position of Leadership at POL Level 2 for the 2027-2028 school years.

Key requirements:
• Support the Catholic ethos, school vision and strategic plan of the school.
• A strong commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and neuroaffirming practices.
• Prioritise and create a safe and inclusive environment for all learners.
• Advocate for and enact wellbeing practices that respect the dignity of all, are evidence based and consistent throughout the school.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build effective relationships with students, staff, families and external providers.
• Demonstrated expertise or a strong foundation in positive behaviour support and classroom management strategies is essential, with a welcoming approach that promotes positive student engagement and wellbeing.
• Postgraduate qualifications or additional study in wellbeing are highly regarded, though not compulsory. We welcome applications from teachers eager to learn and grow in this area.
• Sound knowledge of MTSS and/or MHiPS is advantageous or a willingness to learn and develop expertise in this area.
Prerequisites:
• accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or preparedness to undertake such study
• a commitment to Catholic ethos
• current VIT registration
