23 March 2021

Five sets of twins from Killester College, Springvale. In what must be some sort of record, five sets of twins are enrolled in Year 7 at Killester College, Springvale, this year.

Year 7 student development leader, Michel Kennedy said the school is delighted to have the twins and to have welcomed such a unique group of young women to the Killester community in 2021.

‘The twins have made a smooth transition to Year 7 and the daily life of the college.

‘They have support from each other, as well as begun to make their own new friendships with the students who come to us from a number of primary schools, particularly at the orientation camp we hold at Phillip Island.’

All the twins agree that starting secondary school with their sister by their side has made the transition easier. One twin, Kate, said: ‘It does make it a lot easier having my twin sister with me. I can tell her anything if I have any problems. I’m so privileged to have such a kind and caring twin sister like her.’

Another twin, Michelle, commented that: ‘It’s been really great starting at Killester! I really like my homeroom teacher and all the other teachers. Everyone is very approachable.’

Killester College is an independent Catholic secondary day school for girls. The college was founded by the Brigidine Sisters and today operates under the governance of Kildare Education Ministries, following the Brigidine tradition.
