26 April 2022

As students and teachers return to classrooms following the school holidays, there is much to look forward to during the new school term.

Our family, our story, our future is the 2022 theme of CatholicCare’s Family Week. ‘It is within the family that we first learn to build loving connection with others, based on the deep knowledge that we are loved’, said Jim Miles, Executive Director of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS), in his letter of support for the week.

Be brave, make change is the theme for this year’s National Reconciliation Week. The theme is an invitation to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation and ‘make change’ for the benefit of all Australians. The theme of Refugee Week, Healing, unites individuals, communities and organisations from many different backgrounds behind a common cause. It is a reminder that, regardless of our differences, we all share a common humanity.

For students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) will take place in May. NAPLAN tests the types of skills that are essential for every child to progress through school and life.

Schools are invited to share their news with us for inclusion on the MACS website. For more information, please email publications@macs.vic.edu.au. A number of upcoming events include:
