Archbishop Peter A Comensoli celebrated a special Mass at Our Lady’s School, Craigieburn, during a visit to Melbourne’s largest parish.

As part of the pastoral visitation, students in Years 3 to 6 were fortunate to participate in a Mass celebrated by the Archbishop and to share in his words of wise reflection. ‘Together we reflected on the theme of hope and the people who give us hope in the world today’, said the school’s Religious Education Leader Marim Elia. ‘Archbishop Peter also blessed our statue of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, which was created by the artist Brad Gunn in 2020. Archbishop Peter’s humble and calm nature gave us all a sense of spirituality and community.’

With 24,000 Catholics, the parish has the largest population of Catholics in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. Along with Our Lady’s School, the parish is served by primary schools Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School, Roxburgh Park, Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, Mickleham, Mother Teresa School, Mount Ridley, and Oscar Romero Catholic Primary School, Craigieburn West, as well as secondary college Kolbe Catholic College, Greenvale Lakes.
