Siena College (Independent Catholic Girls Years 7 to 12): a school in the Dominican tradition, has more than 50 years experience in girl’s education and is very proud of this record. Our Patron is St. Catherine and the College is named after her home town of Siena in Italy. Catherine was a Dominican mystic of the fourteenth century who, by her charitable works, her gifts of discernment and prayer and her diplomatic skills, played a leading role in the history of Italy and the Church in a time of great social and religious ferment.

The primary aim is to create a community where all can feel special, loved, heard and respected; one in which all are encouraged to live justly and with compassion for others. The students are encouraged in their search for truth to engage in critical reflection on the world, developing a love of learning, an appreciation of culture and beauty and a spirit of freedom and responsibility. The staff seek to administer to the academic, spiritual, aesthetic and physical development of the students, committing themselves to college policies and programs. Parents are called upon to reflect on the aims and objectives of the college and are often invited to participate in the process of decision-making. It is the mission of the college to be involved in the development of women who will enter society with faith and confidence.

Well appointed facilities include modern classrooms, fully computerised resource centre including Internet, extensive computer facilities, new science wing: new art and technology wing, music and drama centres; assembly hall and chapel. Beginning with a planned program of transition, students are furnished with a curriculum designed to provide the opportunity for success and growth towards the realisation of individual potential.
