History:

St Scholastica's School was founded in 1959. The school began with 45 children from Prep to Year 2 before eventually growing to its current structure with Preparatory to Year 6 classes.

Description:

St Scholastica's School is situated on the corner of Starling Street and Burwood Highway, with St Scholastica’s Kindergarten adjacent to the school on Pheasant Street. In 2016, the school will have an enrolment of 155 students in seven classes. Our students come from approximately 25 nationalities and a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.

Features:

St Scholastica's has an integrated approach to curriculum with a strong focus on CLaSS (Children's Literacy Success Strategy) and SINE (Success in Numeracy Education). We offer Reading Recovery and small-group support in literacy and maths. We have a practical commitment to the needs of individual children and a strong integration program.

Our participation in the CTLM project (Maths) has created real excitement and energy in the area of maths. Contemporary Learning for the 21st Century is our new whole-school project for the next three years. Our new school building has added an important dimension to our community and one of which we are very proud.
