We acknowledge that St Kevin’s is built on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people who have walked and cared for this land for thousands of years. We also acknowledge their descendants who maintain the spiritual connection and traditions.

St Kevin’s Church on Herlihys Road was officially opened in 1968. The school followed in 1970 with 94 enrolments. The initial school site was where the current admin building is now housed. As enrolments were increasing it was decided to add to the school by filling in the undercroft underneath the church. This area is now the Junior Building. In 1973 a third building was planned and the Senior Building was blessed and opened in 1975. St Kevin’s School has operated out of these buildings since this time.

In 2017, a $1.8 million refurbishment to all existing learning spaces was undertaken. This was a very exciting time for St Kevin’s as we modernised our learning environment to enhance our contemporary learning practices.

St Kevin’s is a Catholic Primary School, nestled in a beautiful valley in Templestowe Lower, with large, tree lined grounds and flexible learning spaces. The current enrolment is approximately 120 students, representing a diversity of cultures.

St Kevin’s is a thriving contemporary learning community set in a peaceful natural environment. We are part of the parish of St Kevin’s and enjoy the opportunity to work and celebrate within a parish community.

Our daily focus is to create an excellent teaching and learning environment for all. We are committed to developing children with a healthy mind, body and spirit who feel a deep sense of connectedness and belonging to the St Kevin’s community. We nurture and develop our students to become successful life-long learners in a welcoming Catholic faith setting.

At St Kevin’s we have beautiful new classrooms and facilities. Our spaces offer flexible learning opportunities with contemporary furniture and resources.

St Kevin’s offers students a wide variety of sporting opportunities. We have a full sized stadium as well as access to tennis courts, where students participate in tennis lesson for one term each year. St Kevin’s is part of all the inter school sports initiatives on offer and our students compete in Winter and Summer inter school sports as well as district athletics, inter school swimming competitions and inter school cross country.

We have a strong focus on student wellbeing at St Kevin’s. We incorporate strategies such as mindfulness, brain breaks and welcome circles to ensure we have an inclusive environment where all students can flourish.

At St Kevin’s we provide our students with access to the most up to date technologies and ensure that they are used to improve learning outcomes. Some of the resources we use include:
• Large TV screens in every classroom
• Apple MacBooks
• Chromebooks
• iPads
• and a range of robotics resources such as Ozobots, Spheros, Makey Makeys, BeeBots and Ollies.

We have a strong emphasise on English and Mathematics as foundation skills for life long learning.

We have developed six learning dispositions that help all students to understand how to be a good learner. These dispositions are: creativity, ownership, courage, optimism, grit and collaboration. We incorporate the learning dispositions into everything we do.

At St Kevin’s we offer three specialist classes for all students, LOTE (Mandarin), Performing Arts and Physical Education.

St Kevin’s Primary School offers many other special facilities and programs. We invite you visit our website at to find out more.
