History:

In the early 1970s it became evident that the parish primary school of Our Lady of Mount Carmel could not cater for the increasing enrolments in the Parish. The decision to build a new school, St Anne’s, was taken. St Anne’s primary school was established in October 1977, with an enrolment of 60 children to serve the needs of Catholic families living in the newly developing areas to the west of the Sunbury railway line. There has been a steady growth in pupil enrolments, staffing and buildings required to serve the changing needs of the school. St Anne’s school, Our Lady of Mount Carmel school and Holy Trinity Catholic Primary school are sister schools in the Parish of Sunbury and work together in the areas of sacramental preparation for children and adult education.
