History:

A Catholic independent school conducted on behalf of seven parishes of the Diamond Valley Deanery and a member of the Assocation of Coeducational Schools (ACS).
Established in 1980 on land provided by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and originally part of its novitiate from 1934 to 1974. John Kennedy was the Foundation Principal.


Description:

This Years 7–12 coeducational school set on 19 acres in Watsonia, serves the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne and, by special arrangement, accepts students from Catholic schools in Indonesia.

With a strong pastoral care program anchored in a history of healthy staff-student relationships. Emphasis is on a quality curriculum, good teaching and an extensive co-curricular (after class) programs.

Staff development has concentrated on having a high proportion of staff undertake an ACU Diploma in Religious Education and MCD Bachelor of Theology.

* Interschool carnivals in swimming, athletics and cross country, as well as participation in other EIS sporting activities. Training is provided before and after class. Loyola netball teams play each Saturday in a local competition.
* A Performing Arts Centre incorporating a gymnasium.
* A library open from 8 am to 6 pm for student use.
* A three year Band course which provides intensive musical training for students
* In Year 7, students choose two out of French, Indonesian and Italian. In Year 8 to 10 one language must be studied except by those needing extra work in English. All three languages are taught at Years 11 and 12.
* Uniform is compulsory.
