Role Description/Criteria

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Learning Support Officer (LSO) to work collaboratively as part of our team.

The successful applicant will work with students with various needs and abilities across all learning areas under the direction of teachers and with the support and direction of the Learning Diversity Leader. The position is for the 2024 - 2025 school year, four days per week.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety and wellbeing of children. This community is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.

Role Description:

Assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas and programs as directed by students PLP.

Maintain records of student observation and student progress

Support with the implementation of Intervention programs for students

Help maintain a positive learning environment for students

Have the ability to conduct small group specialised intervention programs with the support of the Learning Diversity Leader, Literacy Leader and Numeracy Leader. 

Assist with administrative duties associated with classroom activities e.g. preparation of equipment or resources

Attend to the first aid needs of students during break times as per the first aid duty roster

Support student supervision in the playground, learning spaces and excursions

Adhere to school policies and procedures

Participate in professional learning opportunities.

Attend school LSO meetings (held within working hours) when required

Special Requirements:

Adhere to our Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct and other policies.

An ability to work collaboratively to support and contribute to the building of a professional learning culture

Current Working With Children Check

Current National Criminal Record Check

Current First Aid would be an advantage

Certificate of Education Support / Integration would be an advantage.
