Role Description/Criteria

The Role

Marcellin College, a leading Catholic boy's school, presents an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis commencing as soon as possible. The position offers an initial 5 year tenure with a review at the conclusion of this period.

The Business Manager is a significant leadership position responsible alongside the College Principal for the stewardship of fiscal management, business operations, strategic oversight of risk and compliance responsibilities and the maintenance and development of our properties and major projects.  They are expected to support the strategic plan and vision of the College as a learning community, with a commitment to their ongoing professional development.

As a member of the College Leadership Team, the Business Manager is expected work closely with other members of the Leadership Team in overseeing the financial and administrative functions of the College.

To be successful in this role you will display: 

  • A willingness to uphold the vision and values of Marcellin College
  • A commitment to Catholic ethos and Marist spirituality
  • CPA or CAANZ qualifications
  • Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, and risk assessment
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a senior leadership team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance and governance in an educational setting
  • Experience in property and asset management
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, business, or a related field
  • Working With Children Check and willingness to undergo a National Police Record Check
     

Applicants who also possess :

  • MBA qualifications
  • Experience in Catholic or independent schools
  • Understanding of funding models in education.
