Justice Ferguson will be the second female Chief Justice, replacing Marilyn Warren AC who announced earlier this year that she would step down in September.

Chief Justice Warren was also educated by the Brigidine Sisters’ at Kilbreda College in Mentone and made history as the first woman in Australia to be appointed as Chief Justice in 2003.

Chief Justice Warren was one of the 2017 Past Pupils of Distinction Inductees at Kilbreda College who were honoured at a celebratory function at the College on 4 August 2017.

Chief Justice Warren has extended her warmest congratulations to Justice Ferguson.
