Performances from secondary schools.30 November 2021

After delays and postponements, the wait was worth it for the young performers taking to the stage at Catholic Regional College, Caroline Springs, for their school production.

The college’s production of Annie has been rescheduled four times over the last two years due to the pandemic. With the recent easing of restrictions, it was finally time for the show to go on. Over four performances, a cast of talented performers, and an enthusiastic backstage and front-of-house crew brought Annie’s story to life. ‘I could not be prouder of the students, staff and leadership team who enabled this to happen’, said teacher and musical director Katie Franzone. ‘This really was a collegial event that the students will never forget.’

Catholic schools across Melbourne are making the most of the eased restrictions to stage their school musicals. Kilbreda College, Mentone, and St Aloysius College, North Melbourne, are each staging productions of Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical Jr. this week.
