Rita GrimaThe principal of St Columba’s College, Essendon, is the recipient of the Excellence in Leadership Award from Catholic Secondary Principals Australia (CaSPA).

Rita Grima was recently recognised as the Victorian state finalist and one of the two national finalists at the biennial CaSPA Conference in Canberra. Nominations for the award are evaluated on the key performance areas of:

  1. Catholic identity and ethos
  2. Teaching and learning
  3. Leadership capacity
  4. Pastoral care and wellbeing
  5. Communication, networks and community
  6. Finance, facilities and resources including ICT
  7. Innovative practice by means of strategic planning, implementation of improvement-focused initiatives, protocols and processes to ensure the achievement of excellent outcomes.

Rita recognised the work of her leadership team and staff at the college, as well as the students as a source of inspiration to create a better school and learning environment.
