The 2022 school year has now begun, with thousands of students and staff ready to launch into another big year of learning.

While the new school year is an exciting time for our newest students, it’s also an exciting time for our newest schools. After months of planning and construction, Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, Mickleham, and St Lawrence of Brindisi Catholic Primary School, Weir Views, the two newest schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne, are opening their doors to their first group of students this week. These new schools in areas north and west of Melbourne are providing local families with more choices for a Catholic education, and planning is well underway for additional Catholic schools in 2023 and beyond.

This term includes the annual Catholic Education Week and plans are currently being finalised for ways that we can celebrate together as a broader Catholic education community. Also an opportunity for schools to celebrate at a local level, Catholic Education Week’s theme for 2022 is ‘The Way of the Gospel’.

Schools are invited to share their news with us for inclusion on the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) website. For more information, please email publications@macs.vic.edu.au. A number of upcoming events include:
