Students and teachers at Oscar Romero Catholic Primary School, Craigieburn West, have celebrated the completion of stages 2 and 3 of the school’s building program with a blessing and ceremony for the community.
‘Looking back at what we have achieved over these past six years is truly amazing’, said Principal Fran Drysdale. ‘The younger students have no idea how lucky they are with all that they’ve got at the moment. They’ve got several play areas, new classrooms and a visual arts room. As we continue to grow, there’ll be further need for more buildings to add to our school.’
Guests for the event included Bishop Terry Curtin, Maria Vamvakinou MP, Member for Calwell, as well as representatives from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) and architects Baldasso Cortese.
Opened in 2018, Oscar Romero Catholic Primary School is one of six Catholic primary and secondary schools in Our Lady’s Parish of Craigieburn and Roxburgh Park. Completion of stages 2 and 3 has been made possible with a grant from the federal government.
