With teachers returning today and students starting next week, the 2023 school year is commencing for thousands of students and staff ready to launch into another year of learning.

The new school year is particularly exciting at Mary Queen of Heaven Primary School, Greenvale, with the Archdiocese of Melbourne’s newest school opening its doors for the first time. Catholic Regional College, Melton, has changed its name to St Francis Catholic College, Melton, with a new logo to honour St Francis of Assisi while pointing to the future development of the multi-campus secondary college.

‘Forming lives of faith, hope and love in the light of Christ’ is the theme for the 2023 Catholic Education Week which begins on 12 March. In addition to the Mass of St Patrick for Schools and Creative Arts Exhibition, a new event will be introduced for chairs of School Advisory Councils.
