The community at St Agnes’ School, Highett, celebrated an important milestone in the school’s history with the official opening of new learning spaces.

The official opening began at St Agnes’ Catholic Church with current and former students joining parishioners and guests for a paraliturgy celebrated by the Auxiliary Bishop for the Southern Region, Most Rev Anthony J Ireland. Guests then moved to the courtyard for a performance by the recently-expanded school choir before a ribbon cutting by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Executive Director, Dr Edwards Simons.

‘One of the things we talked about with the spaces was the natural light and connection to the outdoors, and that’s been delivered in spades’, said the school’s principal, Lachie Foott. The $2 million refurbishment on the seven ground-floor learning spaces has created environments that are bright, collaborative and flexible.
