World Youth Day changes lives
2 March 2023
The excitement for World Youth Day in Lisbon is building and a conversation at St Monica’s College, Epping, has helped inspire a new generation of pilgrims.
Speaking at the most recent instalment of the college’s conversation series, Fr Nicholas Pearce provided some information on the history of World Youth Day, as well as the opportunities available to students and teachers in Catholic schools.
‘I was really lucky to be sent to World Youth Day as a 16-year-old student from a Catholic school’, said Fr Pearce. ‘I didn’t know what to expect and I had a life-changing experience. It would be my hope that any young people who go with our pilgrimage this year have the same life-changing experience.’
Led by Archbishop Peter and the auxiliary bishops, World Youth Day 2023 pilgrims will experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to come together with millions of other Catholics to celebrate, explore and deepen their faith and their connection to Christ.
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) is able to support the opening of additional sponsorship places to help make the inspiring vision of 500 pilgrims a reality. Please use this form to nominate students and staff by close of business on Friday 3 March 2023.
