Role Description/Criteria

Santa Maria College is a Catholic Girls’ Secondary School enriched with the tradition of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan catering for over 800 students from Year 7–12. Authorised as an International Baccalaureate global school, Santa Maria College offers the Middle Years Program (Year 7–10) as part of their contemporary approach to learning. Due to a Leave cover from the 12th May-26th June 2025, we currently have a Drama/Dance load available teaching 2 X Y7 Dance, 2 X Y8 Drama and 2X Y9 Dance with Thursdays off.

About you

  • Experience teaching method listed
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong understanding of the developmental needs of adolescents and emerging young adults.
  • Proficient in the use of ICT for communication and record keeping.
  • Interpersonal skills appropriate to establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff and parents, particularly the ability to work as a member of a team. 
  • Organisation and administrative skills appropriate for planning and preparation
  • VIT Certification
  • Commitment to supporting the College’s relational management and restorative practices.
  • Maintain a positive environment which is respectful of all present and fosters student learning and motivation. 
  • Able to participate in the College's professional development activities in and out of school hours.
  • Open to participate in the College's extra-curricular and co-curricular programs as required.
  • Experience with Mandatory Reporting and knowledge of Child Safety expectations and standards.
