Role Description/Criteria

MacKillop College invites experienced educators seeking a leadership position within a dynamic and innovative Learning Diversity team.  This role will collaborate with our educators to design, implement and evaluate learning programs and resources to ensure they meet the needs of our students, particularly those with an identified learning diversity need. The Learning Diversity Leader, in consultation with the Directors’ of Learning Diversity, will build the capacity of educators to differentiate learning; implement Individualised Learning Plans and; develop innovative and differentiated learning resources. 

To be successful in the role you will need a contemporary understanding of pedagogical practices for a differentiated curriculum, an ability to collaborate with Teachers to provide professional development in inclusive teaching practices and have an ability to proactively advocate for suitable interventions and resources for students with a learning diversity need. 

This is a permanent, full-time teaching role, commencing in Term 2, 2025.  A position of leadership allowance (POL 2) plus generous time release (400 minutes) will be allocated until January 2027.  

Our ideal Candidate will have 

  • demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating a differentiated curriculum
  • a passion for engaging students, combined with demonstrated experience with classroom teaching  
  • creative ways to integrate evidence-based practice into our academic and behaviour curriculum, to improve educational outcomes 
  • a commitment to role modelling respect for every student’s individuality and learning diversity need 
  • experience in using multiple teaching techniques and technologies to engage students in learning  
  • an ability to cultivate respectful relationships between students, staff and families 
  • a demonstrated ability to foster a welcoming and calm learning environment that promotes positive behaviour 
  • experience working with a range of learning diversity needs and diagnoses  
  • excellent communication skills with a recognised ability to build authentic relationships  
  • a commitment to work in a Catholic Education environment.
