Commitment to Child Safety
At St Catherine of Siena we are dedicated to implementing the Vision for Instruction in a positive learning environment that seeks to maintain a child safe environment where the wellbeing of all children in our care is our first priority.
Commitment to Staff
Our aim is to develop a highly professional staff group in which all staff are valued for their experience, skills and continue pursuit of knowledge to create an energetic, high achieving learning & teaching environment that both staff and students want to engage with every day.
Position
The successful applicant must:
- be committed to the Catholic ethos of the school and to the spiritual, emotional, social and educational wellbeing of all students
- have exemplary learning and teaching skills that engage students in a rich learning environment and a desire to share this knowledge in a professional, collaborative and collegial way with their team
- have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents
- enjoy working with students from a diverse range of cultures and have knowledge of EAL best practise
- value and consistently use assessment strategies in the development and implementation of their teaching program.
- be responsive to the MACS’ preferred system-wide approach (Vision for Instruction) to achieving teaching and learning excellence.
Special Requirements
The successful applicant needs to:
- be eager to embrace the Catholic ethos of our school
- be accredited to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school or agree to achieve this within the next few years
- be committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this and to ongoing evaluation of these practices
- have read and be committed to maintaining Child Safety Standards.
- hold VIT registration
