Role Description/Criteria
Contract Type: Full-Time Fixed Term (Part-Time Considered)
Hours: 9:00am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: Ideally Monday 19th May
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Work with small groups of students to reinforce learning objectives under the direction of the class teacher.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, document adjustments and provide feedback to teachers and support staff.
- Promote inclusion and ensure all students feel supported, safe, and engaged.
- Contribute to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Support with classroom management and behaviour guidance when required.
- Use initiative within the class environment to ensure optimal student support.
Skills and Attributes
- Highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly, and enthusiastic.
- Experience working with students with a diverse range of needs (desirable).
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in ICT skills would be an advantage.
- Flexible, proactive, and resourceful approach to daily tasks.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and foster learning environments where all are valued and challenged.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently if necessary.
- Understanding of child safety, including appropriate obligations and behaviours when working with students.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and continuous improvement.
- Alignment with the values and ethos of the Catholic education system.
About You
- Previous experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting is preferred.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to learning support.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Relevant qualifications in education or learning support are desirable but not essential.
