Role Description/Criteria
We are seeking to employ a highly caring, giving, dedicated and skilled Learning Support Officer to join our school community.
The contract position is a 5 days a week position with working hours of 9.10am to 3.10pm. for the remainder of the 2025 school year. This may lead to an ongoing position in the future. This is subject to ongoing NCCD funding.
Applicants need to have a keen interest in supporting and working with special needs students and a particular love of bridging the gap for these students.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate their ability to work as a collaborative team member with our Student Wellbeing Leader, classroom teachers, specialist teachers and other LSOs in our school community .
Applicants for this position should demonstrate:
* a commitment to Catholic Education and the wellbeing and safety of students
* a commitment to the Child Safe policy of the school
* the ability to work closely with others .
The successful applicant will:
* take direction from and report to the Student Wellbeing Leader and classroom teachers to implement a students' Personal Learning Plan
* assist students either individually or in a group
* provide physical, social and emotional care for students
* liaise regularly with teaching staff with regard to student needs
* be flexible in dealing with the changing, challenging and diverse needs of individual special needs students
* have a current Working with Children Check
* have a Certificate IV in Education Support
